4 Stars Great But No Viewfinder
Image display is fine, but I prefer a viewfinder to compose my shots. Sony has decided to eliminate the veiw finder, perhaps because amateurs like to hold the camera in front of them and check the display to see what they will get from the shot. Am I getting old school?
2 Stars easy to get a messy image in-doors
For out-doors picture, with good light conditions, the pictures are great and sharp. Amazing video capture.
But I was really disappointed when taking pictures in-doors. In its Intelligent Auto Ajust Mode, the camera usually picks a high iso configuration when there’s not a bright light inside a room (and I mean really bright), resulting in a bad quality picture. Looks like you’re using a 0,5 Megapixel camera.
Too bad I didn’t know much about the ISO settings before buying this camera. High ISO yields bad quality pictures, because the idea is to obtain a brighter picture in low light conditions. I wish I had bought a lower ISO camera.
5 Stars Great camera
I can’t believe this Sony camera is so easy to use, takes great picture and it costs much less than in the military base. I would recommend to anyone.
1 Star No zoom while recording kills it
I don’t care how great the quality or photos are, not being able to zoom while recording is a big problem. I’m very disappointed Sony decided to take this route because I have Sony digital cameras from 2004 that allowed you to zoom while recording so I do not understand why they took this huge step backward. I’ve sold my camera for this reason and told people to stay away. All the Kodaks that have been doing HD video since 2007 have been able to use full zoom while recording.
5 Stars Excellent feature packed smart camera
The DSC-W290 is a amazing little camera. Its feature packed and easy to use.To be honest, I needed a camera just to point and shoot and take excellent pictures whether day or night. The DSC-W290 fits the bill perfectly with its Intelligent mode which identifies all different shooting modes and environments automatically, day or night and adjusts appropriately. The LCD screen at the back is large and clear. The picture quality is amazing with crisp pictures and life-like rich colors. Even more amazing is the high-def video in 780i, total treat to watch on the big screen. The shoot-when-smiling mode actually works great too.
Another little thing – On the second day I bought the camera, I dropped it while it was still turned on. It fell hard, lens first on a rock and went bouncing. The impact bent the cylinder holding the lens. Once retracted it was stuck for good with the motor whirring trying to extend out the lens anytime I turned it on. It also suffered some dings and scratches. Even though it was my fault and the warranty was void as it was an accident, Sony service center repaired it for free and shipped it back within a week. I have to commend Sony on the quality and timeliness of the service provided. The camera worked like new and I couldn’t be happier with this product and Sony’s service.
Cons – The battery life is just around an hour or probably less when you are in video mode quite a bit. But you should be able to get a replacement battery for about $15. There is no zoom while in video mode.
A good add-on would be a 8Gb Sandisk memory card and a replacement battery to extend your shooting experience.
Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12 1 MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2 5 inch LCD Deep Red

It may be the slimmest Digital ELPH Canon has ever created, but the impact couldn’t be bigger. The PowerShot SD780 IS Digital ELPH captivates the senses with bold saturated colors and a daringly original design that matches the intensity of Canon’s most innovative camera technology. Even when picture-taking conditions seem pretty unforgiving, you’ve got Canon on your side. So the shots you used to miss are the images you’ll now be sharing, and the movies you never took before will be HD unforgettable.

5 Stars Pocket Camera
Easy to carry in your pocket. Image stabilization works well. Just finished two week vacation and batteries still have 3/4 charge.
5 Stars Great Camera
Just go to auto mode and shoot away. One of the smartest Auto modes I’ve used in any camera. Picture is kind of grainy at 100% but who cares. I don’t upload 4000×3000 images anyway. Great, solid feel. Buttons are small but still very much usable.
5 Stars Love it!
I love this camera! It takes beautiful pictures. I highly recommend it. But be ready to read the manual. The things this camera can do are amazing! I still have yet to learn what all the buttons do. But then again, I’m not that technologically savvy.
5 Stars Great little camera
This little camera is awesome! It fits great in my purse, it takes beautiful pictures and videos and is very easy to use.
4 Stars Small and Portable
I LOVE this camera, the quality of the pictures are incredible and the zoom is outstanding. My only issue is the static it has before you snap a photo and after you record a video. Aside from that I won’t trade it for any other

5 Stars Great camera. Better than the tough-6000
Great camera. I use it in my watersports business and I destroyed the Tough- 6000 in 3 weeks. This one is tougher and has lasted the whole summer.
5 Stars Great camera for active lives!
I bought this for my husbands birthday & anniversary gift, we got it 2 days before leaving for Mexico, we had no problems figuring out how to use the camera, we took it on all our vacation excursions, it was perfect for an active vacation! We took underwater photos, photos in the rain & on the windy beach. The picture quality is great. My daughter has had the model under this one for a couple of years and still loves it, for us it’s worth a little extra money to have peace of mind while traveling that if we drop it or get caught in the rain we don’t have to worry about a broken device! And we love the option of using the camera underwater, we took pics in a underwater caves!
5 Stars Picture perfect!
Excellent product. Everything I thought it would be. Great value for the money. Quick and courteous service.
4 Stars Olympus Stylus 8000
Noticed a few very small drops in the charging well, wiped out easily with a kleenex. Followed product insert and rinsed well between used. Camera performed very well. However, notice some pictures in the water looked like had “rain spots” on them, maybe bubbles on the lens? It wasn’t on all pictures. Still playing with the settings, trying to optimize pictures. For 12 MP, could be clearer in the water and out of the water. At this point, I certainly would buy the camera again. I highly recommend buying the floating strap.
4 Stars Tough 8000
Bought the camera for a trip to Mexico in Nov. So far good camera with the tests have put it thru, including water test and college football game. Good pics. Found at a good price. I like the extra settings for snow, water, night; a lot of features in a little camera. Will really give it a workout in Nov. when in Mexico; planning on snuba diving, deep sea fishing, Chichen Itza, and snorkeling. I also liked that it came with a microSD Olympus adapter, good call Olympus.

5 Stars Great new Nikon
New to DSLR, this works great right out of the box. After a class, am amazed at how well it does. This will be enough camera (more than enough, really) for a long time.
3 Stars Mixed emotions
I bought this camera when it first came out over a month ago and I have been using it quite a bit. It replaces my old D50 which I gave to my son.
I really like how small and light the camera is. It is easy to use and I am happy to have a VR lens. I was also excited to get ADR – but, that’s where a huge problem arises: I was stunned and disappointed to discover that enabling the ADR inexplicably slows the speed from 3 frames per second to an excruciating 3 seconds per frame (after the five-frame buffer is full). Of course ADR can be turned off, however that was one the main reasons I bought the camera.
I am also a little disappointed that it so much more expensive than the D40 that it replaces. And the picture quality seems about the same as my D50, which is not bad but I was hoping for a noticeable improvement.
3 Stars BUYER BEWARE: Defective product
I just got this camera last week. It lived up to all of the positive comments that I read in many reviews. HOWEVER, my camera has a defect that I suspect other cameras might also have. When I compose a shot with horizontal or vertical lines, they appear straight in the viewfinder, but in the picture that is taken, they are skewed by about 10-15 degrees. I take a lot of architectural photos, and my lines need to be straight. Otherwise, I would have to spend a lot of time editing in Photoshop. I called Nikon, but the juvenile at the other end of the line said this was the first time he heard of this problem, and offered no help at all. Just thought you guys should be aware. I’ll update this if Nikon can solve the problem.

i love it !

4 Stars Nikon D3000 getting started with DSLRs
I had the Camera for a month or so now and i must say that i was used to Point and shoot cameras with above average performance when it comes to specific areas (point and shoot are fine in their own right)… So i wanted to “migrate” into the next level and really focus on my plating photography…I Blog regularly at [...] and i soon realized that despite my old Sony zoom and daylight pics were good there were lacking that essence ….And then when shooting plated food there is all kind of things to have in mind , specifically lighting conditions…. So i browsed and compared and decided that i like both canon and Nikon Platforms ,only to make a final decision to go with Nikon D3000…And why D3000?
well the features on this camera are more than enough for someone to handle especially someone coming into more serious attempts of photography … At the price range right now there is little competition or none…And the picture quallity is great and you will start shooting as soon a you get it… I got a crash course into using it on a trip to NYC where i had the opportunity to take a lot of indoor shots and some outdoor shots with great results (and then some with not so great) but bare in mind that i am as picky as i can be..I will take several pictures , as many as possible and then choose the best angles and results to go on and use or print…
Overall i am really happy…This camera has enough features for the serious amateur that wants to learn how to use DSLRs and the basics of good photography…. Of course if you are looking into more serious cameras i am sure there are plenty of Nikon and CANON cameras to fit anybody’s needs , but for the little guy that is just starting on DSLRs the d3000 is perfect… And its pretty light too…I was carrying around without much trouble all day….

5 Stars Very pleased.
I had not owned a camera in a long time and am quite happy with this one. It has multiple picture functions and the camera auto selects the right one for you based on your surroundings and subject, which is awesome, since I know as much about photography as I do aerospace engineering (zilch). I highly recommend this product to both newbies and photo geeks since it is super-easy to use and takes great pics.
5 Stars Sony Cyber-shot
I love this camera – excellent picture quality, easy to use, and very light weight. Sony products are always of the highest quality and the DSC-T90 is no exception. Highly recommended!
3 Stars nice handy camera
camera is nice and very handy, but there is a lot of time lag between the time the photo is clicked and it actually shoots.
5 Stars Excellent Value Excellent Picture Quality
My daughter got this camera for a trip to France. She found it easy to use and the picture and video quality was excellent! It is a good value for the money.
5 Stars Awesome!!!
This Sony Cybershot DSC-T90 camera is the best item I have bought from Amazon. It was sent to me in top condition and I was absolutely thrilled to recieve it. The best part about this camera is that I got the cheapest deal with a 4GB memory card and a carrying case. Amazon is a great place to buy many products online and I love it!!!
