5 Stars I really like this camera
I’m no camera expert, I just like to take pictures of my grandkids and my dogs and other things that happen to be there. The pictures I’ve taken with this camera a wonderful and when I transfer them to the computer, they are clear, bright, crisp–just what I wanted and the price could not have been better. I am happy !

4 Stars as good as they come
Unfortunately broke my last one after a 4′ drop to cement… with the lens extended. It was a convenient, trustworthy little camera and I hated to see it go. But now after a couple of weeks with a brand new version of the coolpix (the red one), it seems even better than the last except for one thing. The memory chip access was on the outside of the case; click to remove, click to reinsert…easy and convenient. Now the access slot is inside, under the flap door next to the batteries. I CAN’T STAND IT. I transfer my pictures often to other computers at work, and frequent opening and closing of that flimsy flap of a door gives me the willys’. I cannot see this turning out well; even using extreme care.

5 Stars Great Digital Camera
Great digital camera! Simplifies your picture taking by automatically select the best setting. Produces high quality pictures with stunning colors and sharp resolution.

5 Stars Great for the price
I haven’t had a chance to review the fine points of the camera. but the basics are great!

5 Stars It’s a Giant Killer – Superb Pocket Camera!
This is a superb little pocket camera that is all Nikon from start to finish – and the finish by the way is beautiful.

I’ve had the camera a couple days and I just don’t want to put it down! I have a NIKON D50 SLR for those really precious jobs, and I wanted a small camera I could have in the pocket sort of “all the time.” I tried several small ultra-compact cameras and I hated them all. Too many weird buttons that made quick operation all but impossible without carrying around a telephone book sized manual. I mean, after all, what’s the purpose of a pocket camera, if not to whip it out on a whim and get a quick picture?

Here’s three things I really like about this baby.

1. There are four key buttons on the top deck: Power, Shooting mode, Review pictures and the shutter button. Pull the camera out, hit the power button and you can take a picture in a second. No fumbling, no hunting for the right button. It is logical, easy to remember and doesn’t overwhelm you with a billion choices before you can take a picture.

2. It takes AA batteries. Cool, I have boxes of AA and I don’t need YET ANOTHER little charger! Plus, there won’t be a bum lithium battery to try to replace in two years. AA batts are cheap and in this camera they last a long time.

3. The LCD screen is HUGE, bright, and gives a great preview or slideshow.

Here’s the one thing I don’t like: It’s a bit fatter than my wife’s 20mm Olympus. It’s more like 1.1″ thick. Not unmanageable, but it’s as large as you’d really want for this kind of camera. It’s the AA batteries that make it a bit thicker. BUT—shooting with this gem is 10X faster and easier than with my wife’s compact Oly – (which is the most confusing menu system I’ve ever seen on any product in my life. )

Oh, the pictures? So far I think they are fabulous. This is a 10MP camera – - how much do you need for a pocket camera? With a 4GB standard SD card you can get like 1000 pictures! That’s a long party!

Everything about this camera feels like a well made sports car – I may just pack up that big SLR and ……well, maybe not. But this will get plenty of use.

Nikons smarter approach to digital imaging technology. From image capture to processing, Nikons comprehensive EXPEED digital imaging concept encompasses the entire picture-taking operation. EXPEED is much more than a processing engine; it is a revolution in digital photography.

Three functions designed to minimize image blur for better results

Motion Detection automatically detects a moving subject and adjusts shutter speed and the ISO setting to compensate for camera shake and subject movement.

High ISO 1600 capability helps give you sharper results when shooting in low light or capturing fast-moving subjects.

Nikons original Best Shot Selector automatically takes up to 10 shots while the shutter is pressed and saves the sharpest image.

High-resolution LCD monitor
A huge, bright 3.0-inch LCD monitor makes it easy to compose shots and play them back anywhere, ensuring clear viewing even in direct sunlight.

Easy Auto Mode
Easy auto mode simplifies photography by taking control of settings, so you can just turn on the camera and shoot freely.

Nikons Scene Auto Selector
Automatically recognizes the scene and selects from one of six scene modes for best results. The COOLPIX L20 will choose, Portrait, Night Portrait, Close-up (macro), Landscape, Night Landscape or Backlight mode.

4 Stars A Great Little Camera
I bought this camera based on past experiences with Coolpix cameras, and the L20 carries most of what I’ve liked into the 10-megapixel line. Some pros and cons:

* The use of normal AA batteries is probably the best feature of this camera. It keeps the L20 from being a super-slim, sexy piece of jewelry, but the importance of being able to keep inexpensive spare batteries around, or of being able to just run into a drugstore and buy more batteries in a pinch, is not to be underestimated. I usually use NiMH rechargeables (Kodak brand at the moment, but I have also used Energizer) and have had no problems with the camera.

* The easy-auto mode of the camera pretty much does all the thinking for you. Occasionally, I will switch to macro mode or the scene used for backlit objects, but other than that, it’s strictly point-and-shoot.

* Low-light pictures come out grainier than I would like, but that is to be expected with this level of product.

* My biggest gripe is that Nikon decided to put the SD card slot behind the battery door. I believe they did this to cut down the number of breakable doors on the camera, but I much preferred being able to easily get to the SD card, since I have readers in my PC and laptop. I have almost never used the supplied USB cables for image transfer. Since the battery door is a bit balky, I am afraid that since I’m going to be going in there a lot for the SD card, it is prone to break even more than a standalone door would be. This is not a deal-breaker, but I think Nikon took a step backward.

All in all, I am pleased with Amazon’s pricing and service, as usual. The Nikon L20 is a great little camera.

4 Stars Very HAppy
Panoramic feature does not work for me. May be I am not using the proper steps.

5 Stars Easy to use, Excellent quality
It was Murphy’s Law — our digital camera died two days before our big vacation. I didn’t have time to do a lot of research, I just needed another camera. The local camera stores were too pricey, and the staff at the big box stores were useless when it came to helping me select a camera.

These are the times when I love Amazon. I was able to sort by price, read comments, and order with 1-day delivery. Our camera arrived less than 12 hours before our flight departed and I’m thrilled to say that the camera performed beautifully, right out of the box.

Loved the “easy auto” settings, as well as the ability to switch to more manual-style controls to account for sunsets, water glare, overcast skies, etc. The only bad photos out of the batch were the ones when someone stepped into the frame!

We’re pretty camera-savvy, so I didn’t install the software. Instead, we simply pop out the memory card and use the slot on our laptop to download photos.

One note: I probably missed this in my haste, but since this camera comes with internal memory, the package does not include an SD card. Luckily for us, we had a 2 GB card from our deceased camera and were able to reformat it for the Nikon.

Bottom line: a great value, excellent photos, easy to carry in a jeans pocket, and lightening-fast delivery thanks to Amazon! I’d definitely recommend this camera for a no-hassle vacation memory-maker.

5 Stars Very Cool Coolpix
This little camera is amazing! It is very easy to use and very user-friendly. I haven’t read the entire manual yet and each time I use it I find another valuable function. I just found out that you can zoom in on an existing picture and save it as another photo – truly amazing! The video portion is handy although I have not had the opportunity to use it just yet. The software is extremely user-friendly as well. It only uses 2 AA batteries and they last for quite a while. A very good buy and a great little camera.

5 Stars My father loved it.
I gave this camera to my father as a birthday gift. He loved it.

He has been using it underground (he is an avid spelunker / cave radio enthusiast) and overground (he loves railways). He lives in France with my mother; thanks to this camera, I can now see how lovely their garden is.

This camera made my father happy. Therefore, I give it five stars. :)

Nikon Coolpix S Series Deluxe Leather Case

Nikon Coolpix S Series Deluxe Leather Case

Nikon is a precision optical company with worldwide manufacturing, research and marketing capabilities. The Nikon name is equated with extraordinary photographic performance, innovation, precision and optical quality.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Nikon Coolpix S-Series Case
Does the job! Fits securely on to belt. Easy access with magnetic latch, and finger cut-outs. Allows you to loop cord around your wrist, before pulling camera from case. Amazon followed sale through delivery. I’m pleased Amazon’s service, and material. I would order from Amazon again for sure!

4 Stars The case of the case.
I had ordered case the same time I ordered the Nikon Coolpix camera from Amazon. Unfortunately, it did not arrive before I left for Thailand. Thankfully, the camera did which is the most important. I ended up buying a cheap case at a discount store which worked fine.

Once home from the trip, the case was waiting for me. I like the solid feel of the case. However, guess I’m a little worried about the ‘latch’ on the flap. The cheap case I purchased had a zipper to secure the camera. I plan on using the Nikon leather case now. But I’ll reserve judgement until I use it more.

5 Stars Fits the S70
I brought it for the new S70, and it does indeed fit, very nicely. I haven’t put any real wear and tear on the case, but it seems like it will hold up.

1 Star Does Not fit Nikon L20
I believed Amazon gave recommendations on comnpanion items that are compatable. This case was shown to be purchased with the Nikon L20, but it is too small. I saw another review that shows the same thing. I can not understand why Amazon continues to sell the case with a camera when it doesn’t work. I bought this as a gift and am very embarassed as it is useless as a case for the L20 camera

1 Star leather case
do not buy this case the camera will not fit in the case i order two and both are same. camera dose not fit in the case once you push hard it will go but it will not come out as easier.

Kingston 8 GB SDHC Class 6 Flash Memory Card SD6 8GB

Kingston 8 GB SDHC Class 6 Flash Memory Card SD6 8GB

Kingston Technology’s Secure Digital High-Capacity (SDHC) memory cards are fully compliant with the new Secure Digital Association 2.00 specification. They are a new performance class of SD memory cards designed to meet the storage demands of high-quality digital still and video cameras and other high-resolution image recording devices.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Excellent Product
This product is reliable, fast and convenient. The “Kingston” name is recognized as a quality product and performs as expected. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for quality and reliability at a reasonable price.

5 Stars Nice 8 GB Kingston Flash Memory Cards for Cameras
Why spend more on 8GB Kingston Flash Memory Cards when you can save more than 50% at Amazon Market Place? You take digital pictures, load your pictures from the memory cards into your computer, erase the images from your memory cards, use the fresh memory cards with your camera again. In fact, you recycled the memory cards which became merely a vehicle to load and dump the pictures. Whether an expensive new one or a cheap used one does not make a difference.

5 Stars Works Great, No Problems
I bought this for a Nikon L20 10-megapixel point-and-shoot camera.

It works fine and I’ve had no issues.

I’m not sure what the high speed gets me since I am not using all that sophisticated of a camera, but it seems responsive enough.

The only downside I have discovered is that the SD card reader in my two-year-old Dell PC is not SDHC-compatible. Meaning it will not recognize a card of this capacity. It’s kindof a bummer, but I have a newer laptop that reads this 4GB card fine. This is not the card’s fault, but you may want to verify what your computer will handle before you move up to SDHC.

All in all, I am satisfied with Amazon service and pricing, as usual. I recommend the Kingston 4GB Class 6 card without hesitation.

5 Stars Quality, Compatible, Fast (for me)
As is always my experience with Kingston they make quality products at a middle price. You can find cheaper as well as more expensive cards with the same storage and speed. I feel they are more consistant than many of their peers.

As for compatibility I have never had an issue.

I have used this card in the following:

Nikon DSLR’s

Nikon point & shoots

Canon DSLR

Canon point & shoots

Panasonic Lumix Cameras

HP Computers

Sony Vaio Notebook

Dell Computers

IBM Computers

For me their cards have worked as they should in a wide array of products I own. I think the read/write class 6 are fast and at the moment class 6 is the industry standard.

If you purchase any SD card off Amazon, test it in ALL the items you may use. If any or all of them are NOT compatible you can return it. Amazon has a great return policy and you usually have 30 days. Test the SD card and if you have issues return it and try another or another brand. PNY, Sandisk, Transcend and many others that I have used also worked in all of the above products I listed.

2 Stars constantly get file errors
crap…constantly get file read erros.. ive lossed dozens of pictures or couldnt take a video because it would crap out and then freeze my camera… my cam works great with other memory card.
