4 Stars Seems to be good quality, but mine arrived with dust on it
This seems to be a fairly basic cover for your expensive lens. Simply, this is good insurance. The optics looks perfectly fine to me. I can discern absolutely zero difference between photos taken with – and without – the filter applied. That said, the filter arrived covered in white dust and I was suprised that they didn’t include a cheap lens wipe in the package.
3 Stars Only protect first element but it is cheap
Got this one for my very entry level Nikon D40’s kit lens. Frankly I regret that I should ignore the “brand name” of this filter, since it is neither well designed or well built. It has NO coating, and noticeably reduces resolution/contrast. However, for a $5 protector it does its job. So I only recommend it to those need a really cheap glass to protect a cheap lens, and you may want to dismount it when indoor or any chances you feel there is no danger of damaging your lens.
1 Star Terrible in Night
Please do not buy this filter. It gives terrible flare to the photograph in the night. Works good in the day time. Try hoya. Just 10 dollar more than this item.
5 Stars The Right Stuff
It’s the little things that attract me as a customer. How was I treated when placing my order? Was the person helping me knowledgeable about the product? Did they make suggestions based on my needs? Was the item received the same one I ordered? Was it delivered to the correct address in a timely fashion? I give a resounding yes in all these areas to my merchant. You’ll be hearing from me again.
5 Stars Filters for digital SLR’s
This name-brand filter for my Nikon D60 was a fraction of the price charged in photography speciality stores, and much cheaper than in the so-called “discount houses.” It came quickly and in perfect condition.

Film, as well as video, often exhibits a greater sensitivity to what is to us invisible, ultraviolet light. This is most often outdoors, especially at high altitudes, where the UV-absorbing atmosphere is thinner; and over long distances, such as marine scenes. It can show up as a bluish color cast with color film, or it can cause a low-contrast haze that diminishes details, especially when viewing far-away objects, in either color or black-and-white. Ultraviolet filters absorb UV light generally without affecting light in the visible region. It is important to distinguish between UV-generated haze and that of air-borne particles, such as smog. The latter is made up of opaque matter that absorbs visible light as well as UV, and will not be appreciably removed by a UV filter. The UV Protector shields lens from dust, moisture, scratches, and breakage.
The Tiffen 77mm UV Protection Filter is considered to be one of the most popular protection filter ever made. Just like any other protection filter, its sole purpose is to provide basic reduction of ultraviolet light that penetrates the lens. To provide protection to your lens’s using a protection filter would mean more detailed images and a better contrast pictures for you. It is 77mm in diameter which probably would fit most of the lens in the world. The Tiffen 77mm UV Protection Filter also helps eliminate bluish cast in images.
